Love this series and label but my copy too is pretty badly cupped or bowled or dished or whatever it is the kids say

The music is all time. Yet the set is cupped and I get nostalgia and all but the fidelity is not great at all. The simulations of overloaded mastering comps and tape saturation just makes It painful to hear. I love love love what colemine does with soul funk and Afro beat. It’s a blessing. Can we just bring fidelity into It. It all sounds like it’s coming out of a distorted transistor radio really really sad.

This was on my wishlist for RSD and it took a bit of hunting to track down at the shops around me, but now it's mine and I am pleased. For all my excitement though, I failed to realize that this is a compilation of modern artists. That's cool/fine. A lot of them sound straight out of the past, so I can definitely appreciate that. The records themselves are a beautiful red, sorta translucent. I really REALLY appreciate that the sleeves weren't standard paper ones but nice MoFi inner sleeves. It's those little touches that make the consumer feel like they are getting a good value and that the presentation lives up to the price tag. Plus, music like this should be cherished for many years and beyond. So, good move there Colemine Records!
