My copy sounds PERFECT!! There is not the slightest hint of distortion, neither from the recording nor inner groove distortion. And zero surface noise too. -

Sadly mine has the high-frequency distortion that others have mentioned. Very frustrating to me because otherwise this record (and it’s mix) sound amazing

Is there a way to find a copy without distortion on songs? I adore the mix but the distortion ruins it for me -
Very nice and clean pressing. Sound is deep, instruments and voices sound natural and can be heard distinctvely -no sound porridge. Pleasant listening. No distorsion phenomenon on my copy.

Love this record! Started of with the usual excellent sound quality that I have come to enjoy on these anniversary editions. Good soundstage, clear and yet warm sound. But towards the center of the record there is this high frequency distortion that is mentioned here a couple of times. Such a shame. Otherwise a great pressing. -
It’s true that the new mix is mastered a bit louder than the previous one… Although the distortion issue mentioned by a few people is one that (thankfully) I’m not getting at all. If it IS inner groove distortion, however, it’ll most likely occur towards the center of the record on both sides - in which case, the problem can be solved by a change of cartridge, as my IGD was when I upgraded a year or so ago.
There is, of course, a certain amount of distortion on parts of the recording itself - it’s wasn’t exactly an audiophile recording - which no amount of mastering/tweaking can do anything about…. -
Sadly, I have to confirm this release is plagued by high distortion - not sure if it's just IGD or hot mastering but it is what it is. Too bad, since the new mix sounds great. Stick with the digital versions and skip the vinyl.
