Notes
The second installment of LP On LP is the “Waves” performed by Phish on May 26, 2011, at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel Woods, New York. The 28-minute “Waves” recorded by Jon Altschiller and mixed by Scheiner comes from a tech rehearsal on the eve of the first show of Summer Tour 2011. Phish archivist Kevin Shapiro first premiered the Bethel Tech “Waves,” which includes elements of John Coltrane’s “A Love Supreme” theme, on an episode of From The Archives broadcast on Phish’s The Bunny radio station at their July 2011 Super Ball IX festival.

What an awesome mix. No crowd makes this sound like you’re sitting on one of their monitors. Awesome.

I tend to not like to have to flip the Disc in the middle of the jam, takes you out of the moment. Id rather them find two shorter jams and have A and B side.

I agree with hdorne. Full shows suited for digital. A few good jams on vinyl is the way to go. When they release more, I hope they don't limit to one song/jam per LP. That would be jams of 30 to 40 minutes. Not that many of those that are that good to spend vinyl money on. The sweet spot is 12 to 20 minute jams. Perfect for 2 per LP.

Beautiful and great-sounding pressing of a fan-favorite soundcheck jam. It goes to some odd places at times, but the serene section on the second side is a musical world all its own. I really like this one-jam record format, as I find 6-LP sets of entire shows on vinyl to be a bit ridiculous. Full shows are best suited to digital/streaming without interruptions. I really hope this series continues!

Wow this is a superb pressing. Absolutely silent with no pops after cleaning with the Record Doctor. Great mix. Best sounding $20 record I own.

well this sounds great! $20 bucks for one song sounds ridiculous, but when the song is half an hour long of incredible jamming then its worth it. I will be buying all of the LP on LPs
