Probably the best mixing/mastering out of any CD I own. Just wonderful. And one of my favorite albums (musically) too

Edited 4 years agoIn my opinion, this is the ultimate version of Souvlaki. I even own the 2CD repress however I prefer this version that every kid in the usa grew up with in the 90's. No remastering needed, just the original excellent sounding mixes.
Some Velvet Morning & the 5ep (their finest moment, if you are a fan of early 90s chill-out style techno & ambient house) appended makes the album more majestic & I find it difficult listening to Souvlaki without them now. Sometimes I wonder how much this version of Souvlaki contributed to Slowdive's popularity in the USA versus the UK.
