Long term deterioration!
Great music .. I bought this new when it first came out and was very happy with the all round quality. It’s had very few full plays but over the years the playback on all four sides, especially 4, have become so crackly it’s almost unlistenable! Anyone else? -
I have a test pressing of 80/81 that came from Bobby Naughton's personal collection, housed in a Naughton record sleeve with his handwriting on it. An interesting artifact for ECM fans. Not sure how to add it, or if it should be added. But putting this here.

Great music, record and pressing.
Pat Metheny at his best, incredible guitar works on Ornette Coleman’s Turn around and Open.
My first Metheny album more than 30 years ago and still sounds so fresh! -
One more attempt to understand and check if i like the Pat Metheny group/records. Definitely not for me. Overall its good to listen, but nothing special. Skip it.

A few years after reissuing this album ECM started adding stickers to their vinyl reissues stating that the release is 'from the original analog tapes'. I'm almost certain that goes for all the reissues in recent years, including this one.
Also worth noting is that this hasn't been remastered at all. This is the album as it would have sounded if you bought it on vinyl in 1980.
