Exceptional pressing, but not the album for a novice Mile Davis fan. I love Miles, but I have always been on the fence with this one. I like more melodic jazz, yet this is still an important album in the vast work of Miles Davis. Worthy addition to have, just check out his older stuff first.

Weren't the new (2024) batch pressed at MoFi's in-house Fidelity Record Pressing (FRP) and, if so, wouldn't that compel a new listing?
-
Edited 3 months agoI’ve struggled with this album since I discovered it 25 years ago. Obviously, the quarter century engagement itself attests to the importance of the record. It is unfriendly, inaccessible and challenging. This particular pressing is a testament to MoFi’s and RTI’s voodoo. Remarkable! BITCHES BREW is the diametric opposite of bubblegum pop.
By the way, mine is #12,859. Can anyone explain how this could possibly be a limited edition if they can press a numbered batch in 2014 and repress a second numbered batch in continuity in 2023? The numbered thing already seems kind of silly, but this turns it into satire. Might as well just press another batch of ABRAXAS 1-Steps. -
Own this and just preordered the new MOFI one step. Cant wait to hear if it improves on this already amazing pressing.

Picked up a used NM+ pressing from the first run back in 2015 (I can tell by the ments enveloping the records). #5135.
Miles (haha) better than the 2016 Sony Legacy Vinyl which i had for a couple of years. That Sony Legacy version was reasonably good but a bit edgy.
This Mo-Fi is way more musical. Miles horn just soars. The detail, timber, attack/decay and shimmer of the instruments is incredible with no hardness at all. -
This is the pressing of Bitches Brew currently on the market. I understand the VMP is also excellent, but it is only available in their box set.

Flat. Silent. Incredible imaging. Definitely a solid listen. All MOFIs are good, some are great. This one is great

I grew up listening to this on cd. Getting this release, wow, so much better. Terrific!
Superb pressing, flat, well-centered and clean discs. -
