Britney Spears – Oops!...I Did It Again

A bit pricey for an international purchase but impressive quality (matte cover with foil on beads is a nice touch). The booklet has some actually rare photos(!) and and stills from many of my personal favourite photoshoots from the era, and even the way the spine is done, it got me really excited for her other albums potentially getting this treatment (I can't wait for the 'Britney' deluxe tracks). Sounds great too! It's about time Britney's had a proper reissue campaign and not just some picture discs...

This release is absolutely stunning all around — frankly I’m surprised her label put this much effort into it. Everything from the ultra high quality holographic book-style packaging to the mastering and pressing quality (finally this album isn’t crammed into 1-LP!)… phenomenal.

Now we just need the same treatment for Blackout! That one would be even more exciting as it’s the absolute fan favorite but hasn’t ever had a deluxe vinyl release with B-sides, remixes, etc. (unlike OIDIA here which previously had all these B-sides and remixes released for Record Store Day a few years back minus the two new remixes of course).

I’m a Britney collector and bought the sangria and standard black vinyl pressings, and the sangria pressing does NOT come with a hype sticker. Pretty annoying but it is what it is I guess.

Beautiful packaging, clearly they made a great effort in the packaging to celebrate this iconic album. The cover photo resolution isn’t great but they used high quality materials to make the packaging.

Sound quality is amazing too. Because they split the sides differently than on other pressings there’s less crammed on each side so it doesn’t have as much distortion.

However content wise there is so much more stuff they could have added to this for $100. They could have included a CD, more remixes (the original cd maxisingles for Lucky, Oops, Stronger and Don’t let me be the last to know are getting pricey and more of those hard to find remixes would have been great) and they should have added a dvd of the behind the scenes footage of the oops video and recording of dear diary from the 1# requests and more VHS.

Perfection. The way an anniversary release should be done. So glad to have it in my hands. When I opened the box and saw the cover was holographic I was gagggged. It wasn’t d and was such a nice surprise. It’s truly beautiful. The only critique I would say is that I wish the vinyl slid out the side and not the top, and that there is no hype sticker. It’s a 25th anniversary “box set”, put a little more effort into the details. Otherwise it’s perfect and I’m incredibly happy to own it.
