A very fine mastering, warm, a little more depth, but all without distorting the original too much. Very good!

Edited one year agoNot my favorite Fleetwood Mac album, but damn this sounds so good. Any more words would likely just be echos of those who weighed in before me.

Absolutely huge sound! Huge as in Yuuuuuuuge! Ryan Smith did an amazing job, cut so well. The bass is cinema like and the voices are sweet. Guitars all echoey and 80s like. Been listening to this album since I was a kid but it was really cool to listen to it like this. McVie and Stevie sound wonderful. The nostalgia hit hard.
It is unfortunate that it isn't the quietest pressing, its fine in general during the music but in between tracks you can hear its quite noisy. This was after ultrasonic cleaning courtesy of the Estonians. There was like a short honeymoon period recently of GZ pressings from VMP which the quality had improved but last few months seems like its dropped again. In my experience the coloured vinyl is not the greatest indicator, some QRP coloured pressings are amazing. No doubt their pressings will improve 10x (at least) with Solstrom at Rocky Mountain pressings or whatever they're calling it. Just a shame these records couldn't have been pressed at least at Optimal, there's a bunch of records from VMP this last year that are noisy and forget flat, got the rolling hills of The Shire on a lot of them. -

I listened to this and the Bellman and is soooooo close. It was so close I was having trouble deciding which one I preferred. One second I would think the VMP was fuller sounding, the next I thought the Bellman was. You cannot go wrong with either.
I paid $22 about a year ago for the Bellman, and the VMP is $35 for , $40 for non. In that case I think the Bellman is a no brainer. Both fantastically mastered. I know I didnt help much, but no matter which you have, you’re not missing out on the other.
ittedly I only compared 3 songs. The Bellman pressed at optimal is absolutely DEAD quiet. For the 3 songs on VMP, they were dead quiet as well which is surprising for GZ. Usually I always have issues. ALWAYS. So I’m just gonna cross my fingers the whole album is quiet. -
I'd forgotten how 80's this sounds.
My copy was nicely pressed, I don't think I heard any pops/clicks.
I just have a CD of this one, so no vinyl to compare with, but I think it sounds great. -

Edited one year agoLet me start by saying, I don’t have any other version of this to compare it too. That makes my task easier, because spinning this album is a pure joy. It’s all the things it should be, flat (for once) and quiet but also exquisitely mastered. It has richly dynamic, wide and deep sonic presentation, and frankly it’s just really enjoyable to listen to.
The sleeve is also nicely done as well, tip-on with a lovely matte uv finish. It contains a lyric insert rather than the original-style printed inner bag and the record is in poly-lined inner. A winner. -
