Some low level surface noise between tracks, but this pressing has great punch to it and an overall balanced / transparent presentation to my ears. I don’t have other pressings to compare to, but nice thick slab of vinyl is dead flat and centered. If you love this album (and who doesn’t?), you won’t be disappointed.

Edited 5 months agoI’ve been listening to this album for almost 40 years. Levi Seitz did a great job on this laquer - especially coming from (assuming) a digital source. It’s a challenging record to get right. I love Chris Bellman’s work on the Metallica laquers, but I think Levi has him beat on this one. Maybe a little less of a soundstage, but I enjoy the separation on this a bit more - especially Cliff’s bass. I imagine it’s entirely subjective and based on whatever nostalgia you have for MOP, but this one hits all the sweet spots for my ears. The CB cut is also terrific, but my preference is this one.

This is one of the worst pressings I've ever encountered, especially considering the album's popularity. The hissing and overly prominent highs are extremely annoying. It sounds like it was mixed and mastered by someone inexperienced. I will definitely be skipping this album, particularly the 2017 remasters. Chris Bellman should have raised concerns about the poor sound quality. While it's unclear who exactly made the remasters, the result is a terrible release.

I've had this pressing for a bit now and must it, I don't like the pressing or the mix at all, the sound feels trapped and weak, I always preferred the digital version. I was fortunate enough to recently pick up an original pressing from 1986 and the difference is mind blowing, the mix is so upfront compared to this, just my two cents.

This pressing sounds fantastic. I don’t have any other pressings to compare but it sounds significantly better than my sh*tty cassette and Sony Walkman.

This sounds very good. I was soo glad it sounded good as it was my sons first record. Ive paid more for others of metallica and they dont sound this good. Get it!

This reissue as no business sounding this f****ng good at this price point. An awesome pressing of a classic album that will allow you to properly enjoy it, without breaking the bank or having to sell a kidney
