Fantastic sounding record! One of the clearest, best separated records in my collection and the pressing is basically perfect. What a treat for a $4 bargain bin find! -
I picked up this copy at my local record shop at a fanatic price. NM condition and it looks like it’s never been played before. Sounds fantastic and a very underrated album in my opinion.

One of my all-time favorite LPs and the MFSL version trumps anything else I've owned including the first pressing and several Japanese issues. -
The tracks on this album will not appeal to everyone. Having that said, one can of course make the choice (or not), which is most important, 'sound' or 'music'. In any case, it is abundantly clear that this is a great sounding album, considered by many to be 'audiophile' and used as a reference to test hi-fi installations. -
Recently acquired a copy of this album in excellent condition. It is very quiet, dynamic and with wonderful clarity.

Edited 3 years agoThis is a '79 MFSL release of Earl's "Finger Paintings". A nice array of Latin tinged smooth jazz instrumentals. That's Earl on nylon string guitar, a fabulous musician. Highlights are "Long Ago", "Sparrow", and "Dance With Me". Gorgeous music. His guitar tone is so lovely.
I do not have any other Mobile Fidelity releases, but this is very clean sounding with beautiful frequency response high and low. The dynamics are superb, and best described as 'punchy'. Check out the kick drum and poppin' bass on "Sparrow" if you don't believe me. Based on this, I would not hesitate to buy another. Includes all the original case candy, namely propaganda to the platform.
Four stars. Recommended. -
Incredibly well mastered record. Though not the heaviest, sits very even on the turntable, not noisy at all.
