anyone else have a copy that's not numbered? is mine a promo? its not the only un-numbered doors RSD release that I have
-
why wont/cant the doors/rhino issue all the tapes they have and get this MESS over with. release all they have NOW cause in time nobody who is still collecting will have ed.
-
Not sure why some giving negative reviews. This sounds great. Better than the bootlegs floating around. Stage recording with only a few people in the crowd. The Doors very early in their career.
-
I find this record to be excellent. Sound quality is great for a live performance. The master tapes used were not a direct, official recording but still manages quality. This is the best early Doors live; not quite at their peak and the energy is incredible. All the great early songs between these two Matrix releases.
-
Terrible quality. Was really disappointed after being so excited about this release. Better bootlegs out there. Still, its interesting. But really, I just prefer Alive She Cried or Live in New York.

Edited 6 years agoA couple tracks make me wanna say this is one of the worst recordings I've ever heard. Like 'Unhappy Girl' and 'I Can't See Your Face' which sound horrendous. First, it sounds like a mono mix. Second, it sounds like there is one mic and that's the mic Jim is singing through and the rest of the band is only coming through this one mic as well and it just sounds muffled and lo quality all the way through. However, tracks like 'When The Musics Over' sounds more like a soundboard cut and has better sonics. These are very intimate recordings they're not big concert performances and the sound on this reissue reflects this. Some minor surface noise during the quiet parts and a lite tape hiss can be heard during most songs, yet a very compelling look into The Doors live performance tho. A must-have for collectors and diehards but probably a release to avoid for the casual listener. FYI, the last track, the title track, sees Jim Morrison performing his famous Oedipus act, Quite entertaining! What a treat those early Doors shows must have been.

Edited 7 years agoThe funny thing is they pressed 10,000 copies of the first matrix RSD release, then they print 13,000 copies of part 2??
