Herbie Hancock – Man-Child

I’m new to the Speakers Corner label and I have to say that everything checked out for me on this pressing and I’ll be purchasing future releases for sure. No pops, clicks or unwanted noise for me. This pressing was flat unlike so many of my MOFI purchases lately.

I've got a VG copy of this pressing, and it's one of the best sounding records I own. The pop and crackle between tracks adds some nice texture.

Full sounding. Proper.

This repressing, though nice, lacks bass punch. Three more words.

Very nice sounding pressing. Great soundstage and instrument separation. Herbies keyboard & synth playing sounds great here as does Wah Wahs guitar work.

Sounds as good as you would expect it to , herbie hancock on form and speakers corner doing their usual high quality work... wish they would reissue a few more of herbies 70s records , thrust & mwandishi would be nice

Amazing bass by none other than Louis Johnson (brothers johnson)

A pretty solid jazz-funk album featuring Wayne Shorter and Stevie Wonder. The band sits in some pretty groovy vibes throughout the album at different tempos. The pressing has that classic 70s sheen to it and isn't flat. The EQ seems mid-range focused in the 250k - 12k range. It isn't a spectacular sounding pressing but still enjoyable and worth purchasing if you come across a copy for an affordable price. Pressing = 3.5/5, Music = 4/5.

Is it really different colors on this sleeve version or is it the usual photography topic? looks less yellowish red, but more purple & pink!

It is flabbergasting how well recorded this album is from 1975, and the stellar justice this pressing does to that recording is beyond reproach; Columbia Records clearly didn't fux around back then. If you find a clean copy of this, you are in for one hell of a treat.
