The music is of course the best of the series, IMO, but the pressing is not great. Each side is packed, so the volume is lower, there is more surface noise than I would expect and for me, disc 1, side A and B are full of consistent pops and clicks. The music is why I’m keeping it, but an audiophile would cringe at this pressing.

Edited one month agoMine is littered with noise which is quite noticeable in softer ages (side A especially). Unfortunately, this occurs quite frequently with this soundtrack. Cracks, pops and static noise throughout. Cleaned it three times already and it hasn’t improved one bit.
Sadly, not a very good sounding album. I wonder if all the other RSD HP releases are the same.
At least the music is good which somewhat compensates for the poor sound quality. Another John Williams masterpiece. -
Edited one month agoThe best Harry Potter score. Side A is going to get so much replay, especially. My copy sounds perfect on this “Expecto Patronum” clear vinyl. A Window to the Past is my absolute favorite track after Hedwig’s Theme, and it sounds perfect.

Same as GrumpyDM. First disc B side is full of long lasting repeating crackles, not just single pops. A side is not perfect either, mind you. It is not constantly happening, some tracks are OK, but it sounds pretty bad when it happens.
Sadly not a great pressing. But still better than nothing, I suppose.
Unless you want to buy the expensive box set with 16 records, there is not a lot of choices on vinyl. And none are perfect as it seems. Ah well... -
My second fav HP soundtrack. Moody and atmospheric. Side B first disc is riddled with pops and crackles. Clear vinyl was not a good choice imo.

Mine skips badly on Sides 1 and 2 for the first 2 and a half tracks. Other than that, it's your average sounding, pretty noisy picture disc.
