Having just perused page one of this seller's subs, I am disheartened by the lack of response to previous votes and comments.
I ed many negative votes, only 2/100 subs pushed a Correct vote.

Oh dear. I've seen some crackers recently but luckily they've only had a few pending subs.

One thing, you've told him to use A / B instead of A1 / B1, they are fine if printed on the release but without images it's hard to tell.

Those guys doesn't care about correct subs - they just want to sell their stuff. He will never get on the CIP with 9000+ items for sale.

The issues of this on Raven seem to have a different catalog# (RVLP 1002 or PVC 8911).
http://www.jpgr.co.uk/p2683068.html lists it as a Goughsound release, a label that doesn't exist yet on Discogs. Background info is here http://www.jpgr.co.uk/gp5001.html (non-picture disc issue which seems to be the same as the picture disc except the obvious). Also lots of other sites list it as a Goughsound release.
It seems that Raven is just the label which first released it.

More importantly if you look at the releases it isnt even the right artist, thats some german person called Lyn, not this Brooklynite whos trying to update it.

As things stand that Lyn, if he/she does add anything properly, will have to use 'Lyn (5)'

I've had a couple of fairly nasty PMs now so I guess going for blood began a while back (and it was my blood). In response I tried to explain but I bit back a bit.

I've seen dozens of wrong images, web images.
Images often say more then words and therefore are important pieces of info.

i tried to encourage him to give it at least a night or 2 nights sleep before words or actions he couldn't take back.
& encouraged him to respond to (almost) all comments, but also said it didn't all have to be right away.

& without knowing anything about the content of the pm's, i said asylum27 seems like a very reasonable guy. if he had said something to asylum27 he felt like taking back, i thought asylum27 might accept it.

Huh. I might have been too hasty with the EI votes on some of the digital releases that were changed.

That label certainly needs tidying up, but not for the reasons Herr Zenker mentioned.

I just discovered this guy HMV, using the non-existing credit roles, wrong labels, wrong artists, classical releases without even mentioning the orchestra, or missing composed by altogether. Seems to be completely ignoring the guidelines to sell quickly.

One taalem has been trying to get him to put Unofficial tags on his decidedly unofficial Black Sessions submissions and also has tried to get him to correct primary artists when they are incorrect. This thew one tantrum already, terming taalem's comments "harrassment" and then trying to delete rather than correct one of his submissions. Every single one of those 'Black Sessions' cds needs unofficial in the format, comment and vote with that in mind.

He sent me a PM apology a while ago which threw me completely off and I had to look back as to hy IO was getting a message, so I looked into him and replied to please read the guidelines better. I think he either doesn't care or just need a really BIG Nudge ..wink! in the right direction. If someone would be good to point him to the guidelines or this forum maybe then he will perhaps will get the picture clearly.

They've been doing this for ages. Really boring. These shops that simply submit any old shit so they can sell them are the curse of the database, and really ought to have their s suspended if they won't make an effort of submit correctly or respond.

Maybe we should have a separate thread in an appropriate forum asking the management to do just that.

Edit: That image doesn't actually back up your vote at all. If anything it should have the positions 'Side 1 / Side 2' or if that's a bit vague then use whatever the runouts call the sides, which could very well be A1/B1, but the image doesn't tell you that. TBH that vote didn't really achieve anything, but then it's not like he'd have responded to a comment requesting confirmation anyway.

It was pursuant to guidelines and given the raft of other errors he's made across his subs, including many A1 & A2s, it achieved pretty much what was intended..a vote to get him to either fix his shitty subs or, better, onto the CIP.

Last time I looked the guidelines were different, when were they changed? There was a section ing lower case and creative track positions.

I still stand by my opinion that vote wasn't justified. You've just itted th purpose of it was to get him on the CIP because of his other submissions.

That is still there, simplified, as

Thus, the vote was justified because the guidelines said the way he had it was incorrect. And my comment in the vote pointed him in the right direction, as above. End of Story.

You are welcome to your opinion, but I'll stick to the way the rules direct me to vote, if and when I vote on a trackisting like that.

If he was a who was submitting quality subs, I wouldn't have voted that way, preferring to comment, but as his subs and this thread are evidence, he is not and he should be on the CIP. Not only are many of his subs shite but he simply doesn't give a flying...

I'm not, why are you getting so uptight? Side 1 / Side 2 are not valid, that's fine and I accept that. What you seem to be assuming is that they automatically become A/B, whereas the best idea would be to check the runouts first as it may be A/AA or A1/B1 using these would be preferable to automatically adopting A/B. Without seeing the runout or being told it's content, any vote placed is potentially incorrect. It's pretty simple when you think about it.

Trailing numbers on single track sides don't help anyone.
From a very quick flick through some of my 7's; none of them state A1 and B1.
A fair few double A sides do have A and A1 though.

I have had only one "correct" me to say that it is ok to list A1 & B1 rather than A & B "if it is as on release."
None of the commented releases had artwork.

Most experienced s would, in such an unlikely case, "translate" A1 and B1 to the logical A & B, just as they do Side 1 and Side 2 to A & B.

12.2.5. If the release is a one-sided vinyl or cassette (or is a set containing such an item) you must add "Single Sided" to the format. For double sided releases with a single track per side, trailing numbers are not required (you can use A instead of A1), but they are acceptable.

It would simplify things to delete the non-highlighted part of that last sentence...

VINYLRPM is on CIP. The second is a way to circumvent the restrictions. Of course, it was setup before he ended up on CIP, so maybe not.
