Nitty Gritty Dirt Band – Will The Circle Be Unbroken

Sounds amazing. The packaging is beautiful. I love how they did a triple gatefold instead of a trifold. I hate the trifolds. Makes it much easier to access all 3 discs.

A sprawling masterpiece, this is essentially a musical history lesson spread out over three LPs, featuring about a dozen iconic country and bluegrass legends. I like the sound of this pressing, it's got a warm, intimate soundstage that fits the loose, off-the-cuff vibe of the performances. It's also a very lavishly packaged album. My copy has a scratch that ruins the very first song of side one, otherwise it plays nice and clean, with occasional faint surface noise.

This album is a cornerstone collection that is as unique and sought after as it was from the start. A rare album to be in my collection, and an historic treasure.

What's a brother to do when his LP matrix etchings don't fully match any of these cataloged here?

I have a recent gently used copy that is materially complete, including poster, but don't find my variant here other than the UAS-9801. All on the orange "Sunrise" United Artists labels.

Data is etched only, with "00 UAS-9801-n- " (n= 1-,3-,5-) and "N47 UAS-9801-n- " (n=2-,4-,6-) No scratch-outs, no refs to the Oprey or Aspen... nothing extra. (The 00 & N47 is very faint relative to the rest.) Is this possible? Thanks for any insights.

This is most likely a Keel Mfg. Co pressing by virtue of the "K" in the runout matrices. My copy has a "K" even on side A, where this listing shows "X" (?). My labels also very close to this with ignorable tiny print differences.

This is an excellent album. All great songs well played and well sung.

Anyone have info about this pressing such as what year it was made?

Simply loaded with OG Opry stars, this is an amazing studio gathering, recorded on 3 discs.
Maybelle Carter, Roy Acuff, Merle Travis, Doc Watson, Jimmy Martin, Earl Scruggs...and all the folks named Scruggs in the Nashville phone book, this is goin' to the well, as country music goes.

Some marvelous and heartfelt songs, including "The Precious Jewel", "Dark As A Dungeon", "I Saw The Light", "Way Downtown" as well as a gaggle of instrumental pieces which includes some fancy fast pickin' ("Soldiers Joy", "Down Yonder"). Doc Watson is a superstar here, and anywhere.

I've got two copies from the same pressing. One of them has detectable inner groove distortion, the other has less.
