Excellent recording of traditional bluegrass. A coming together of old pickers and young at the time. The great Merle Travis

Edited 7 months agoI got lucky finding a near-pristine copy at my LRS. The sound is FANTASTIC! Great press, no errors or noise beyond what you might expect for this age. If you come across one of these and it's in decent condition, GET IT! You won't be sorry.

This is an exceptional recording. It was done very much the style of a direct to disc record. The performances were mixed live to 30 ips 1/2 inch two track tape. This eliminates the multi track master with sweetening and effects possibilities in favor of the live concert feel which really shines on this record. Very powerful spectacular sounding record. Highly recommend.
