****A word on PLAY TESTING:****
-RECORDS: I try to clean and play-test every record I put for sale here. I use a vacuum powered record cleaning machine, with Turgikleen cleaning solution. I use a cheap, modified Ion USBTT turntable with an upgraded elliptical stylus. If you are using high end equipment you may hear more, or less, imperfections than I do play testing, but my main criteria I am testing for is skips/defects, play wear (groove wear, loss of sound to excessive play/stylus damage), and surface noise. Often I will describe these aspects in the listing, like "the fidelity (or 'sound') is good," meaning that maybe there is surface noise but the actual sound under that is still good, vibrant, not groove worn. A good cleaning on a pro machine can many times take away surface noise from dust and grime but the fidelity is what it is.
-TAPES: I play test all the cassettes for sale in my old Ford truck, or else a trusty Sony Boombox. 8-tracks are tested on a Panasonic component player or else whatever other 8-track player I am currently working on.
-CDs: I only play test CDs that look beat up. IF I don't indicate that a disc has been play tested, than it's likely in NM condition or maybe has some very light marks. If I play test a CD that means I listen to it front to back and make sure there's no skipping. I play test on a Sony blackface 5-CD changer component.

I try my best to edit these counts with things like slim CD cases with 2 CDs etc. If you see something amiss and want to save some $$ on shipping please reach out I don't bite!)
