I generally agree with the grading posed by Discogs, but I move it one notch down.
I grade the records as follows
If the record is super clean or minorly blemished and plays without any problems, it gets a VG rating.
If the record has some surface noise, some normal ring wear and maybe a split inner sleeve, it get s G rating.
if it has audible crackle or the cover is pretty messed up, it's Fair.
I avoid giving anything higher than VG because of the persnickety. The price however is indicative of the true condition.
Even new vinyl can have pops and surface noise.
