Bass 's sample from Azymuth - Jazz Carnival

Devotion came about when Byron Stingily and Marshall Jefferson were out on a double-date. The girls went off on their own and Marshall & Byron started singing about them. That night Marshall went home and recorded the music, and played it to Byron the next day.

Edited 19 years agoTimeless, life-affirming soulful house music that always sends a shiver down my spine. Byron Stingly's soaring vocals and the beautiful message the song conveys, always will have a place in my heart. Although vocal house & garage cuts today sound much more polished & pristine in their superior production, I don't feel they can match the soulful heights of this beautiful record. And for me the simple production only adds to the records' charm.
