Notes

Early versions come with a square 12"-sized insert with lyrics printed on one side and graphics/credits on the other, and a plain black die-cut inner-sleeve. Later versions lack the insert and came in a color-printed 'checkerboard' Island cataner-sleeve.

"All songs recorded April 1977 at Gilfoy Sound Studios in Bloomington, Indiana, except 'Tidal Wave' recorded 1976 for the MX-80 'Big Hits' EP and remixed for this album".

I discovered the band in a dream. In REM sleep, I was listening to a band called MX-80. I ed it the next day and googled it and it was a real band. Not sure where it seeped into my consciousness, but here we are. A week later, I was at "Singles Going Steady" in Seattle and found reissue. Wow! I put on side one. Rat-a-tat drum fire, gravelly bass, then the guitarists slides into a wailing riff. The singer's voice and delivery sounds a bit like Thurston Moore. Go listen to the first track on YouTube, "Man on the Mpve." Great album! Thank you, sleep-deprived brain.
