Wide and layered soundstage with beautiful instrument separation. One of the best SACDs I own. There are a few spots where you might be able to hear recording issues - tape hiss or timbre of the instruments but it is negligible. If this album doesn’t take you away you need a new soul. -
Listening to the SACD right now, which is what the one step (and the previous MFSL vinyl releases) were cut from.
Such a big deal was made of this, when, in actuality this was never a stellar recording to begin with, having been recorded on early 70's technology.

IMO This is inferior to the older Mofi 24k gold CD version from 2008... they are the equal of each other for mids, treble and air but the gold cd has a beefier low end and that helps flesh out a somewhat dry old recording. The SACD sounds too thin and lacks atmosphere from warmth. Tested on a Denon sacd player, Unison S8 integrated and Tannoy Kensington GR loudspeakers.
