Notes
Original first pressing which included the track "Gz Up, Hoes Down".
Due to sample clearance issues concerning Isaac Hayes' "The Look Of Love" the production of releases containing "Gz Up, Hoes Down" stopped and all later versions of this album do not contain this track.
A same year reissue with the same cover, labels and catalog number therefore omits this track. The reissue can be differentiated from this original pressing by looking at the actual number of tracks pressed and runout etchings on the B-side.
The tracklisting on both labels omit the "Untitled" album skits.
The label on the B-side lists "Tha Next Episode" as the last track on the album, but it is not included in this or any other pressing and the last two tracks "Gz Up, Hoes Down" and "Pump Pump" appear reversed.
The correct tracklisting is entered above.

For whatever it may be worth writing it here, there should really be an instrumental pressing of this.

For those that are still curious about a Doggystyle Vinyl with Gz Up, Hoes Down, Amazon allows y'all to preorder the new 30th anniversary repress vinyl that includes Gz Up, Hoes Down. Should be delivered around Thanksgiving.

An ultimate album might even be considered the definitive rap album of the last 50 years. This pressing is complete with Gzs up, Hoes before it’s intervention so it would be the way the artist intended upon its release. A true 10/10 album.
This pressing is like you’d expect a first pressing of this era to be …flawless soundscape, quiet and flat. Perfection. It turns 30 this years which means there won’t be many of these left, real soon. -
Edited 2 years agoThis pressing is outstanding. A perfectly mixed and executed Hip Hop album. Crazy how they got this great of a sound on two sides. 10/10!

Trendsetting album that catapulted Snoop Dogg as one of the coolest to ever do it. If we look at The Chronic and Doggystyle as one double disc album, they may the best rap albums ever.
Album quality is very good and the album proves rap music can be pressed as one disc and the sound is fine, though notably its not a long album. So happy to be able to hear Gz Up here!
Grab your Gin and Juice check out the flow and listen to Snoop transport you to the West side 90s style. -
Edited 6 years agoI bought a copy of this album after my friend Jeremy played me it. It's really good!! However, if your mam is like mine and a very religious lady, you will need to hide this album away from her as all of the swearing and the unsavoury picture it paints of living in the war-torn streets of south central LA are likely to cause offence. My advice is not to hide it under your mattress though. While this may seem like the ideal place to stash an explicit album (because it is flat) I would recommend against it after what happened when mine was hidden under my mattress. My mam's toyboy Gavin had his young 3-year old son from another relationship 'Tristan' to stay for the weekend, and I was demoted to the sofa so that 'Tristan' could sleep in my bed. Needless to say, he wasn't potty-trained (and still isn't, even though he is now almost 5) and he wet the bed. This wouldn't have been so bad, but he had drunk approx. 2.5 litres of Pepsi before going to sleep, so there was A LOT of wee. Of course, my copy of Doggystyle was a sodden mess when I eventually rescued it, and to this day it still absolutely stinks of wee.

Edited 9 years agohi g-funk lovers
i need your help on this matter. i own what seems like a 93' repress of the album.. all matrix and bar codes match the discogs version. what puzzles me is that the back cover is different... the black log "soon to be released..." is above snoop's head and there's a full tracklisting on his left shoulder, instead of the "see lp label for song sequence". i can't find any visual of that particular Lp on discogs to list it accordingly; thanks for your help.
