It's JLP, iconic album but this pressing is super uninspiring.
I guess indicative of most late 90s recordings - an after thought version vinyl version of digital. -
The “secret song” on my release is actually You Oughta Know, not “Forgive Me” or whatever. But yeah it’s like 3 seconds long lol
Album sounds really great and punchy -
So this release has been coming out on vinyl since its inception without the hidden track from the CD. You would have thought someone would have slapped on a 7” of that with the alternate version of You Oughta Know for récord store day. Or a proper 2 LP production with these two bonus tracks on side 4. Ridiculous that it’s 2023 and that this keeps coming out as is in different colors and nada.

I don’t find any ‘dullness’ on this pressing as read below. In my opinion it’s amazing! Great channel separation, airy and right feel of raw aggressive attack and ‘attitude’ from beginning to the last track. Or could say to the last and only 3 seconds of the ‘hidden’ track :))

any of the owners of this can confirm if part of the hidden track of the cd is in the vinyl but is incomplete, my copy does! i was wondering if all of them are like mine or i mine could be a misprint, thank you in advace for your help

Can someone confirm they have the etched matrix as stated on this page. I have this first pressing but there are no etchings. Also my stamped matrix does not have “x” after the A/B.

After countless listens to the monumental CD, which set my hair on fire with raging vocals pursued by volleys of assaulting guitars, I salivated for a vinyl edition, hoping to discover buried treasure. The first listen to this German version was a huge letdown. Overcompressed, compact, sibilant, monophonic, and dull. I tried another pressing...same result. This album desperately needs a remaster to bring Ms. Morrisette forward out of the mix, and to find some nuances that make vinyl worth the price and effort. Case in point, check out Madonna's Ray of Light, and be amazed: the CD and vinyl could not be more different.

Edited 18 years agoAlanis Morissette's debut album of songs being the other
woman still raises the hair. There are cliches that warn
of offending the fairer sex but none of them give voice
quite so powerfully as Ms. Morissette; with a vocal delivery akin to white voodoo.
Ably ed by tremendous instrumentalists this album
stands out.
