A general rule of thumb I’ve learned is to avoid the US Interscope pressings and shoot for the 2015 European or Australian Fiction Pressings.

This isn’t entirely firsthand knowledge but rather general information I’ve gathered from this site, steve hoffman forums, and reddit. Cheers!

Never mind the pressing, this album is shit. Hard to believe that this is by the same guys that made Innerspeaker and Lonerism. Can this even be qualified as psych rock? Sounds more like synth-pop and not the good kind. I guess Kevin's dream of people "dancing" to their music, pretty much killed their sound.

The Color release is really cool. My copy (The US Version) sounds pretty alight. I think side C & D sound better, but side A & B are also good. I don't own the European version. I think it's weird that the US got gold/Orange & lavender/Violet as the colored release. The gold looks amazing tho & im not complaining at all, I just find it so weird. Personally I think the European version (Yellow & Purple) go better with the album's theme. I don't own that copy yet, but I've been told it sounds a lot better then the US pressings, but I hear that about almost every album pressed on vinyl now. I think the yellow & purple are very unique on the European version. The purple & yellow look so shiny & idk, I just love the look. The US lavender reminds me of Lana Del Rey's ultraviolence urban outfitters pressing, but the lavander is a really pretty color.

At first listen, I was not very impressed with this album. Out of the gate I liked "let it Happen", but the rest was a little syrupy and mellow dramtic.

Now, after a few months and revisiting it, I can appreciate it for what it is. The music seems to be coming from a man that has found success, left a relationship and kicked off a new one. Its kind of hard to hate on someones uber happiness, potentially falling in love and having the clear head space to drip drop his clean liquid vile all day long without a care in the world... Its cool... its free... its his current.

What a Load of Glitter Balls!
To my great chagrin this time around Tame Impala moved from neo-psychedelia to unimaginative synthpop. “All this running around, trying to cover my shadow, a notion growing inside, now all the others seem shallow. All this running around, bearing down on my shoulders, I can hear an alarm, it must be morning.” “Let It Happen” is a huge disco turd and farther on their stuff becomes even worse. So those Currents are just currents in the sea of hogwash.
