Notes
1995 Apple label re-issue was part of new US pressings of their UK catalog, using the same catalog #s as the CD.
This is different than the 1988 C1 re-issue in a few ways:
-Newer Apple label design with white background
-The catalog # now uses the barcode C1 07777 7 46446 1 7 on the labels.
-The logos on the back cover now include the Capitol and Apple logos.
-Issued as a "Limited Edition" with black sticker (see photo)
-Her Majesty (B11) not listed on the jacket OR the label
For the 1988-90 "C1" purple label pressing: The Beatles - Abbey Road
Runouts are etched except "ᴍᴀsᴛᴇʀᴇᴅ ʙʏ ᴄᴀᴘɪᴛᴏʟ" and "SRC" logo which are stamped.

Picked up a sealed copy of this the other day and played it today. The bass is on this record is amazing! Ringo's drums are powerful too! There is slight distortion on some tracks but the pressing itself is pretty quiet with a few pops here and there.

Edited 3 months agoSide 2 on my copy is slightly off center as well unfortunately.Great sounding pressing besides that. This one is a replacement for another Apple white background label that I gave away to a family member. Can`t if side 2 on that one was having the same issue. It`s a roll of the dice when it comes to records. Nothing has changed in that department.

Edited 4 days agoThis is a lot better than I expected. The bass is a little boomy but if your system is bass shy or you make minor adjustments it sounds real good. Very clear instruments and the drumming stands out … maybe because I am used to those muffled US represses I grew up on that they sounded like mush. Wally does it again. Don’t let the digital mastering scare you away.

My copy is a "Wally" and it sounds good. Not the best version I own but none of the problems I see described in other reviews.

People . you're just unlucky with your purchase. Or maybe it's my vintage head. the sound is great. no compression. high.medium - in place. Well, perhaps the low frequencies are slightly increased. but not critical. advice. listen before you buy. at least a small part of the song - any.

My side 2 has so much pitch fluctuations it’s almost unplayable. Side 1 plays and sounds just fine. I can physically see the needle sway with the record on side 2. I’m not getting the distortion others are speaking of though.
-
Horrible edition. Sound is distorted on both sides and skips on "I Want You (She's So Heavy)," and that was on the first play! What a horrible purchase I made while on an equally horrible date...

My copy of this C1 Ltd Edition is superb clarity and richness, so some confusion or difference in pressings maybe.
