Pure Gold. Smooth in every sense & reflects the wine and dine culture of the 80's. Very similar structure and style that almost certainly inspired 'Sting's - Englishman in New York'.

Edited 14 years agoA1: fades out earlier than its European counter part (5:25)
A2: same mix as the 7" but heavily edited (cut and past type of edit)
B: same as the European 12" A-side, Smooth Operator (5:25) + Red Eye (3:18) -
Edited 15 years agoClassic track no doubt, but head straight to the B-side for the extended smoothness... For some reason this "longer than the 'long version" is only available on this Portrait 12" (Promo) release. It's a nice departure from the radio version that we've all heard too many times. After the vocal runs its course there is a nice instrumental breakdown that let's Sade's band show their stuff. --Check it..!!
