Another perfect timeless album showcasing Steely Dan’s unique musical vision revolving around their high-quality jazz-pop orientated songs, wonderfully densely textured backing vocals, intelligent lyrics, catchy melodic hooks & sophisticated arrangements. Oh - & some of the most stunning drumming from Steve Gadd on the title track!
Absolutely remarkable & astonishingly impressive. -
I replaced my original copy of Aja with the first CD version and replaced that with the 1999 remaster. Recently, I found a good copy of this original Australian pressing for AU$40 and it sounds way better than either of the CDs. The remaster is too bright. The vinyl - despite the odd click and pop - has more depth and warmth. The gatefold sleeve is a bonus.
