In August 2014, a 'News' article on the artist's website announced that this and the other 2014 reissues would be pressed "in heavyweight 180g black vinyl." However, this release was not subsequently marketed by the artist or label as a 180g pressing, nor is the weight mentioned anywhere on the release.

Runouts are etched and all Optimal Media GmbH 'geometric marks' (e.g., '2 = V', '3X', 'TI 3', '2=X') are mirrored.

Info from artist's official website: "The albums will also be cut from the original analogue master tapes and packaged in identical artwork to the initial 1980’s releases."

I think this release sounds very good, clear and have a good soundstage. I cannt compare with the original pressing, as I do not have it.

As others have said, it is a bit quiet, but nothing turning it up a couple notches won't fix. Every sound comes out excellent, as it should. It's top shelf quality.

I disagree with the idea that this pressing misses the "oomph" of the original, or that it sounds bad at all, in fact I compared this pressing to the OG UK cut at Sterling (even volume matching it) and yep, this sounds IMO better overall, bass is more round and audible, guitars are crunchy, soundstage is more prominent and detailed, everything sounds extremely dynamic. No surprise there since this was cut from analogue tapes at Abbey Road. to turn this record up since it was cut very quiet to fit the runtime (look at that B side). Purists might enjoy the rolled off dynamics in the OG for that old school feel, but this is a properly done remaster.

Missing the umph of the original pressings, but has very good separation and soundstage. Just isn’t very exciting, just overly judicious in the balance, maybe the bass end was the scapegoat, that seems to be have taken a big hit. I’m kind of glad I own it, but without going to 11, it’s a bit to(o) tame (a land).

This is the only copy I have on vinyl. I cannot compare it to anything else at present. That said, it sounds good to my ears. The mix sounds nice and balanced. No instruments are drowning out any others. Guitars are brought up just right for solos. Bass is nice and tight. Everything is crisp and clear. I'm happy with it.

Agree with most others on here. This reissue isn’t terrible, but it’s not great either -somewhere in the middle. Still happy to add this to my collection. You just have to play it a little loud to compensate the mid/high muffling you’ll notice. Maybe I need to pick up a remastered version and hope they are as good as NothB and I’m which are awesome remasters.

              Sonically this identical to r28314745.

My system is set up properly ,I have an OG pressing to compare it to .
Overall lackluster ,as if the mix was tamed down .
It sounds good cranked up but I hate to say it but the OG crushes this latest pressing ..
It has the balls and punch that made this such a great listen .
On this version ,.the bass sounds pulled back
Even the vocals are buried in the mix .

This latest mix will suffice for many people and thats cool .
But if your able later on ,,seek out an early pressing

Sounds fine …. Until you hear a mint condition OG - the OG absolutely destroys this
