My copy has AA-1006 in the runout on one side, and AAB-1006 (B scratched out) on the other. Is this an AB first press? -
After having what I thought was an incredible sounding AA all this time & wondering just how much better an AB would sound, through the comments here I learned that there are ABs “masquerading” as AAs.
As the vinyl gods would have it, I luckily snatched an exceptionally clean AB pretending to be an AA at a record show in Birmingham, Ala., a little more than a year ago now. Needless to say, it sounds amazing.
So, if you happen to spot AB scratched out in the dead wax of a version that has AA on the spine and label, proceed with confidence - it’s gonna be amazing. -
Mine has AA stamped BUT the RL cursive AB-1006-(RE-3)-A, but the AB is scratched out.
Anyone else have this transitional press? Assuming this is from the first run masters. -

I have this version and it is fantastic. I have the ABC Records – AA 1006 Union Jack and I don't see any AB markings or crossed out B so it should be an AA. I heard that the AA's have muddy bass or terrible drums but this AA sounds great, Possibly it used the older BG mastering before a Copy Eq'd version was used. I compared this to a Steely Dan Greatest hits Kevin Grey cut (Aja Songs), I played other Steely Dan LPs like Gaucho 1980 Master Disk RL and Can't Buy A Thrill 2022 BG and it sounds as good or better in some songs so I like this version. -

Fantastic clean copy and extremely low if any IGD. Absolutely love this album. System is. AT LP120 w/ AT440MLa, Marantz 2270, Allison Acoustic Four Speakers.
