Sounds awful, as though the vocals are not front and centre but Chris is stood at the bar with a rubbish microphone. As others have said, also lacking bass.

A LOT of surface noise on both sides, even after washing it.
Apart from that, okay. Nothing remarkable as far as dynamics go, but okay. -
Edited 2 years agoTerrible pressing, lifeless mastering. A7/B7 tracks sound bad. I can't recommend it.

Pretty disappointing pressing this. I love the album - it's one of my favourite Coldplay records. But the pressing lacks bass, and is pretty lifeless and not very dynamic in parts. Sounds like there's a few glitches on my pressing too, which don't sound like dust in the grooves, but more like pressing faults. Shame.

The vinyl version of this album is very much lacking in bass. Almost none of it is present on the record. Poor mastering.

Edited 9 years agoi Agree with Henry. this Record is fantastic. i love the entire mood of this album, is brilliant and full of Glory.
it is very modern, so sounds totally different from their first works, but if you are open minded and not scared from a song with Rihanna (she's got a terrific voice after all) you will love it and even find it one of the finest. "charlie brown" is an amazing song, i love the strange crying intro/outro, martin voice is on top in all the songs, and there is no trace of the melancholy mood of the band, replaced by an optimistic feeling: Eno was co-producer and composer in some parts, so the keyboards job is truly reliable. Closing track reduce me to tears every time, being precise when the session change and music become stronger.
This album makes any depression feeling of life disappear. it's magic, never found something so happy without being tedious.
pressing is very well done. silent, not at the top but way above average.

A good follow up album from Coldplay. Never seem to dissapoint. Money well spent on a beautiful record in my opinion.
