Still such a 'buy on sight' record. Lucky enough found a fresh copy this week.. Raw and versatile club tools which will stand out on any sound system!

Edited 2 years agoHere's my 2 pence (not cents, I'm British haha) worth.
On Da Rocks is a lovely little tune.
Outrun was a techno/hard house banger back in the day. Hammered by Dave Clarke, Green Velvet and DJ Sneak so appealed to both camps. Heard this slay a club in the mid-late 90s especially if 2 copies were cut up. It's still a classic DJ tool now, it's an instant, jacking groove and I love it for that.
TB's solo tracks aren't exactly DJ friendly but that's fine, they were about capturing a vibe in the stufio and just getting the records out in '95.
I personally find the high pitched noises in the other tracks really annoying but that's just me and my tastes. Still got something about them and this EP is full of great ideas :-)
You were always immensely surprised and delighted with these EPs cos everyone had a fave. -
It is probably just me, or do you hear the prototype of what became known as late 2000’s fidget/blog house on the track ‘Roulé Boulé’?

Edited 3 years agoOutrun heard in the wild, played by David Flores/Truncate at Flash DC this past weekend, generating one of the peak crowd responses during the set... LOL, still relevant!

For my money, a great EP. As has been mentioned before, "What To Do" fits in well with harder techno sets. However, I'd also add Roulé Boulé to that - a fine track which still sounds great mixed in with jackin' house and techno alike. I'm not so much of a fan of Ventura/Outrun personally, but a quick glance at this comments section will tell you that I'm in a minority there. All-in-all, a solid release that still packs a punch.
