What an album....my favorite BNC so far. I'm slightly biased, cause this one of my favorite Blue Note albums of all time. -

In my opinion the best sounding ”True blue“ ever.
The remastering ist senseful and excellent.
one star less, because of the pressing. I have to wash all my blue note recordings with ultrasound a few times until they are to hear without pops and clicks. -
One of my favourite BN records, i also highly recommend the Alan Yoshida mastered XRCD. The incoming KPG UHQCD should kick ass too. My first vinyl copy here had a nasty track 1 non fill. 2nd times a charm. Plays great, sound great!

Superb blowing sessions, this one swings hard. Really flat and no discernible clipping or fills on my copy. Hubbard's tone is crisp and Tina's is full. Drums are phenomenal, tons of interplay and rhythm changes. This one is going to get a ton of plays, easily in my top 3 BNC.

Edited one year agoGreat hard bop session on BNC. This pressing for me was just a tad bright and thin sonically ? Vinyl is flat and clean. Gad to have it. -
Flawless pressing here too, in every parameter. Great sound quality too ... but that's what we have all come to expect from Kevin Gray, Mastering Engineer Extraordinaire! Optimal did a really superb job on the pressing. Top notch all round. -
