The picture on this cover is the INITIAL Photo that was used for this album:
Joel Bernstein photographed the trio in serious poses aboard a boat, and initial copies of CSN bore that picture on the cover. The next picture Bernstein took of Crosby, Stills and Nash was a shot of them breaking into laughter at the thought of just having posed as "serious artists." The trio later decided that they liked the second photo better, and it was decided that all future pressings of CSN should bear the "laughter" photo.
The photo is pasted onto a lightly textured (front and rear) cover. If, like on mine, the glue is getting old, beneath the photo you'll see a grey, non-textured space, slightly smaller than the photo.

Edited 2 months agoPicked up a copy of this for cheap and picture is still attached after all these years. But sounds decent. Not my favorite from CSN but top three albums for sure. Gerorld Johson's bass is awesome on Run From Tears. Great sounding pressing! -

Great album, for me this is as good if not better than the debut and as good as Deja Vu. My fave CSN vinyl. Classic 70's. This pressing is incredible. Paid 6 bucks for my copy whilst in the states a few years back. -
It is not uncommon for the picture to become detached over time. It would be unusual if a sealed copy had no picture.
