This release is awesome. Too bad we don't get releases like this in the States. If you can afford this buy one before they’re being sold for some outrageous price.
Cheers. -
This SACD stereo version sounds amazing.
Best I've heard and that includes some of my original 70's UK and Mint quiet Japanese vinyl.
I can't comment on the multi channel track - not interested.
For my money, on my new Esoteric SACD player, this sounds better than the new Analog Productions SACD (which makes no sense I know!) in of soundstage and analog like air around the instruments. Could it be the SACD manufacturing?
However - I don't know why they made this a Hybrid disc - nobody is buying this for the CD layer! Why compromise?
Hopefully a single layer SHM SACD is in the works as SACD enjoys its resurgence? -
Cracking value. An amazing set for the amount of memorabilia. As to the CD, the sound is sublime.
Best 50th Anniversary option yet...wish Analogue Productions could be let loose on a vinyl version. -
Simply staggering the amount of merch you get in this package, it's superb quality. So so much better than the vinyl box set in of content and value. Great double dip.
-
Easily one on the coolest pieces of Pink Floyd history that I own, the amount of memorabilia in this set is incredible. Worth the price, highly recommend!
-
A Fantastic Set. In proportion there’s more memorabilia here than in the last DSOTM box. Their best issue for the 50th anniversary…..

Edited 2 years agoI was fortunate to be in Tokyo on the day of release, bought mine from Tower records in Shinjuku for only ¥6.600 ($50) they had an additional commemorative card/picture slightly smaller than the original, a nice touch I thought.
Played this twice already and stunned at the excellent sound quality, Nick Masons cymbal work stand out…outstanding, thoughts may vary depending on your system… but for me, I’m sold. -
The cd sounds great. The packaging is insane. I would recommend this version if you can get at a decent price.

I have compared the new SACD (Japanese 50th Anniversary Reissue) with the SACD from Analogue Productions (2021, disc also made in Japan). I each have the SACD layers (stereo) with the Luxman D-10X SACD Player via a) the Headphone/ Tube Amp Set STAX SR-007 MK2 (Set = Omega SR-007 Reference MK2 + SRN-007t II) and b) the Stereo Class A integrated Amplifier Luxman L-550 AXII. I couldn't tell the slightest difference in sound between the two reissues. Anything else would have surprised me too, because to my knowledge all SACDs released since 2003 (30th Anniversary) have used the same mix. However, the equipment of the new Japanese edition is beautiful and comparable to none!
