Edited one month ago2nd copy without defects.. Good. 1st copy with MANY POPS & TICS both on A2 and B2. Optimal Media GmbH is a relal disaster as Pressing Plant. You must be lucky
-
Listening to this one again now. It's not just the ticks on B2. Freddie's trumpet is too hot and "cutting" at times. The jacket stinks. An album of this quality deserves better than this bargain-basement treatment.
-
Flawless copy, sounds as good as may be expected with no tics or pops and good separation and definition of instruments.
Only remark that my copy has the Made in sticker but lacks the Classic Vinyl Series one. -
Compared to the 1985 Cadre Rouge Audiophile Edition I own, this reissue sounds very smooth and rich.
There is almost no noise and there are no manufacturing defects.
In fact, I wonder if there is an album with better sound than this. -
I read all the comments and came to the following conclusion: either someone has hearing problems or with the equipment on which they listened to this record, I do not take into factory defects in the recording. This edition sounds as natural as it can be, I'm telling you as a musician. the drums sound above all praise. A perfectly balanced engineering job. Take this masterpiece and do not hesitate.

Edited one year agoExcellent pressing. No noise or other nasties. This reissue will satisfy all reasonable jazz vinyl fans. Really interesting Herbie session
-
My copy is clean and quiet on both sides. The minor bother is a little distortion when Freddie reaches high notes.
-
Very noisy on B2 with a lot of pops and clics. Probably noisy all over but B2 has a lot of quiet parts.
-
Record sounds great, except for B2, altho that's a highly improvised track, meh, tons of clicks that didn't bother, my main concern was B1 which sounds fantastic. 😊😊
-
This is a superb pressing and a way decent master job. Silent surface, superb imaging. If you want to spend less than a hundred bucks on this LP you certainly cannot go wrong here. (discharge the static in the poly lined paper sleeve and give the disc a wee wash and you'll be super happy)
