Clean quiet pressing but the mix is awful. Super flat and muted. My CD copy sounds infinitely better.

I'd rate this release a 9/10. The vinyl is mostly quiet, though a few songs have noticeable loud clicks. While many releases often come in flimsy paper inner sleeves to cut costs, this one doesn't, and it was a wise decision. Incredible album.

Word of warning: the pink inner sleeve is not safe for long term storage!
After a few years my copy was covered with VERY obvious clouding. They actually washed off with a healthy amount of cleaning fluid (90% distilled water, 10% iso, 2% Liquinox) and a high pressure water rinse, so it's not the same issue non-archival plastic sleeves have historically had, but still not a good sign. It looked exactly like the cloudy ripple marks that are common with records stored in the 1960-70s sleeves lined with glossy plastic, but in this case it wasn't permanent or audible.
I've never seen a copy with the clear sleeve, so I can't say whether the issue is the plastic itself or the pink dye. -

Total success, the vinyl is totally quiet, has a nice beefy low end and handles the originally super compressed recording as well as you can hope for. Especially since I see these sell for under $20 all day, it's worth picking up a copy.

Edited 3 years agoFirst time listening to this band and record; picked it up with a stack of others that looked interesting.
I guess it's indie rock, possibly psychedelic folk even. Some really nice upfront acoustic guitar work. I'm less a fan of the distortion effect, which sounds like it's was achieved by overloading the signal, or impedance mismatch. I know that was a creative choice, but when I hear it, all I want to do is tweak his gain staging, lol.
The vocals are not my fave, but props to his confidence and ability to belt at full power when needed. That's a nice touch.
Some interesting sounding songs. I was unable to read the lyrics printed very tiny on the inner sleeve, but may come back in the future and figure out what all of this is about. I understand there's some Anne Frank subject matter here.
Overall, a decent sounding record. Three stars from me. -

Tbh it sounds a bit flat and the sleeve it comes with “THROW IT” it seriously scratches ur album. Replace it with poly lined inner sleeves or anything other than the oily thick plastic crap it comes with.
-
Horrible compressed sound. What a shame! Mabye is because the bad original recording cause the digital copy sounds the same.
