Edited 4 months agoAll I can say is "Wow." I was at a thrift store when I came across two of Norman Blake's albums. Both were in fantastic shape, and for $1, I took a shot. When I returned home, I googled Mr. Blake. Quite the resume.
When it came time to put this on my turntable, I was astounded. The album has great soundstage for being a mainly acoustic guitar album. If you ever spy one, I would definitely grab this album. -

I’ve got a weird “free” version the supposedly has a “defect” which was just some thing on the record i manager to scrape off and fix… crazy it sat around since the 70s and only i fixed it with little to no effort in 2023

As good as songwriting and flatpicking gets. Truly remarkable first album by Norman Blake. An All-Time favorite
