My copy sounds fantastic -- apart from Hello Nasty being a top two Beastie record IMO (and you can argue that it isn't second!) the mix is super clean. Really heavy bass but is well balanced. Very little static and clear vocals. RIP MCA, and long live the Beasties!

This album represents the largest disparity between quality of production and quality of manufacture in my entire collection. This record sounds like a cassette that sat in your dad's Camaro for 6 hot summers and got stuck in the deck. I say this as someone with a vested interest in this release, do not buy.

I think this sounds great. Yes there is some sibilance but the CD has that too. The only track that I think has it bad is "Just a Test". As mentioned the bass sounds crazy on this and I think if your cart isn't aligned properly it might skip around. I've heard of that happening on a lot of 90s albums with those real deep bass hits. Remaster is pretty good and they did fix a slight audio glitch on "Negotiation Limerick File" which is jarring because I'd gotten so used to it!

Anyone in Australia happen to receive two copies of disc 1? I have two copies of disc 2. Get in touch!

This is my favourite album of all time. This pressing has a lot of bass which I like. I don’t know why people are going on about how the labels are on the wrong side, for me they’re on the right side. This pressing sounds amazing and I would recommend it to anyone. The album itself is (CONTROVERSIAL OPINION ALERT) the best Beastie Boys album.

Has anyone noticed that the LP labels are on the wrong sides of each LP?

People aren't lying about the bass on this one. But it's balanced well; clear mix that is very of the era. Zero complaints. Crack a brew and enjoy.

loving the quality on this, super clean sounding, bass that slams, vocal mix is slightly low as mentioned below, but that's my only gripe, and a very minor one at that.

Finally got my hands on a copy, after a deep clean I gave it a spin... on my initial listen the sibilance issues were rampant and would start in at around the second track. After much research and reading other reviews I tried to see what I could do to alleviate or eliminate the issue all together. Turns out, my Ortofon Blue wasn't at the proper tracking force which was the culprit. After a quick adjustment, the record now sounds better. There's still slight sibilance, but not as bad as before.. So, for all you folks having issues... make sure your cartridge is properly aligned and adequate tracking force is dialed in. Double check your anti skate as well. Good luck!
