Edited 7 years agoThe second album of Quantec is also one of my favorite, I love to listen to this album while wandering in historical/medieval streets at night with a sky filled with visible stars, specially during summer or spring. I also love to listen to this album while playing Thief Dark project. It's hard to say which track is my favorite, all of them are very good.

Enjoyable dubby beats across the board with this album. "Profound Experiences" is the standout for me; in the latter half it morphs into a fantastic groovy dubstep track. Vocals are a nice touch. -
Quantec's second album, CAULDRON SUBSIDENCE, wobbles into consciousness with the deep and hazy "Absolute Level," as the dub effects bounce in halfway through, though "Deep Rooted" has them right from the start, and "Profound Experiences" has some bongos for slightly more tribal percussion. Quantec uses vocal samples on several tracks (the blues on "Pandemonium" work particularly well), which give them a slightly different feel from the straight-up Chain Reaction approach, "Satisfied" slows things down a bit, lingering in a mysterious soundscape, but "Magic Potion" and "Transmitters" get back down to Basic Channels. "Plateau" closes the album on a sedate, though funky, note. A strong pick for those who like dub techno.
