Strongly disagree with Eric's comment, though fair to say, he wrote it over a dozen years ago. But to me, it's just another interesting and enjoyable installment in their larger discography. Thank you, Depeche Mode.

Oh man, I can't believe how BAD this album is, I mean REALLY bad! This is DM's worst album since their debut album 'Speak and Spell'. They chose the wrong era to revisit, [can't stand early synthpop or it's current label "electro clash"]instead of the pinnacle of their career, the 'Black Celebration-'Violator' era. Cheesy synth sounds abound, with subpar lyrics and the worst of sins, no catchy songs, none. Add to that Gore's irritating guitar licks, Gahan's lame songs [never did think he had any song writing talent] and poor choice for producer, you have the receipe for a complete disaster. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge DM fan, but since Ultra, their output has gone steadily downhill. Time for these lads to pack it in. Definitely a "contract" release. DM RIP.
