This was a massve tune with all the robot dancers, poppers and lockers during 1983 - 1984, even some of the breakers. Some purists like to decry that this wasn't 'Kraftwerk sounding' enough and was pandering to the youth of the day. Yes, I've heard them complaining. But not only was this fun and reasonably accessible sounding. It also had street cred with the emerging electro hip hop funk scenesters of the day, whether they were the producers making the music initially inspired by Kraftwerk or the public listening, buying and dancing to the records. Together with Planet Rock, Twilight 22, Cybotron which took influences from Trans Europe Express and Numbers. Tour De spawned a whole secondary, new movement most notably for the US West Coast (and Miami) scenes with the heavy breathing sounds and body popping, locking beats. Many of who built their whole careers on. For me it is timeless and oozes melodic, mystical, rhythmic funk, I don't care what anyone else thinks.
