content wise this set is well worth the price. The remaster is solid, sounds a lot better. My only complaint is the print quality isn't up to par on the album sleeves. Many dark spots and I think it would have benefited from a bit more of a glossy finish. I pulled out my original and it looks better, and it's OLD! With that said, it's still a fabulous box set. Purchased 2022, so maybe earlier versions have better print quality?

Incredible collection encoming all things "Sign O' the Times". The mastering by Bernie is solid, and it's great to have all this BONUS material. Honestly, the bonus stuff is the main reason to pick up this set IMO. So many goodies here, both heard and unheard.
The tracks available on previous bootlegs sound FAR better here, with proper mastering.
The hardcover book is of great quality, and is full of anecdotes and big lovely pictures.

My only complaint ? We REALLY don't need the 7" edits. They don't serve much of a purpose-This is especially apparent regarding "Crystal Ball"....where is the full version?

(Just give us the full length funk thanks.)

this is a gorgeous expanded release. my only serious complaint is that they did not include a few of the greatest not-originally-released-in-1987 tracks from these sessions (i realize this is because they were released years later on the Crystal Ball CD box.) the most glaring omission is the superb full 10 minute version of Crystal Ball--which remains unreleased on vinyl 😢

This box set is truly great.
It’s a must-have for every true Prince fan.
The cost is justified by the quality of what you will find inside this reissue.
It really delves into the power of Prince’s magnus opus by adding unreleased tracks, different mixes, photos, thoughts.
Everything has been remastered in a excellent conservative way and the sound is extremely qualitative, the pressing is perfect.

This is an amazing work by the Prince Estate, a jaw-dropping release.

Did anyone else notice the printing errors in the book on pages 76, 84, and 85? It looks like there is white placeholder guide text for the graphic designer/printer to reference on top of some of the lyric sheets/artifacts. It just reads "page 1" or "page 4" etc. Looks like it was supposed to be removed prior to printing.

The DVD footage is amazing — it feels more like a real performance than the Sign O' the Times film. I wish we could've officially gotten the March 21, 1987 First Avenue performance aka "4 Those Of U On Valium" footage as well!

The vinyl masters and re-masters all sound incredible — better than the original release in many cases. Only occasionally do I hear any sibilance or distortion, and that likely is just due to some of the vault tapes being in the vault for so long. I do wish that the release included some of the other tracks originally slated for Crystal Ball (that were later released on the Crystal Ball compilation). The box the estate shipped this in was the coolest, most thorough packing of a box set I've ever seen — they even had Prince branding on multiple layers of custom cardboard shipping boxes.

Glad the vinyl purchase came with the digital files. Very satisfied with everything.

Split jackets at top on most, warps on 2nd of Main LP, 2nd LP of Vault lll, and 2nd of live LP. The Bernie Grundman Mastering is immaculate though, sounds amazing! Just wish the warps and splits weren’t there. Love the book.
