Edited 4 months agoSo glad I convinced myself to shell out the £80 (Dec '24) required to purchase what has on first spin established itself as one of my very favourite Bob recordings.
A must for any big fan of the great man. Pure joy on wax -
About time that Sony re-released it in a non limited and well pressed version. The flippers have had their time for now 5 years and this is too important of a document for it to be not readily available
-
It is good- but imo not even remotely close to Blood on the tapes. Seems whomever engineered this felt ( like most) yo put their own stamp on it. Voice is more upfront. Less alive, less balanced, less rough and raw.

Edited 3 years agoAny buyers of this RSD issue should be aware that this was plagued by pressing quality issues, primarily "non-fill", resulting in distorted ages marred by short "zips". Those familiar with non-fill will understand. Some buyers managed to take advantage of an exchange offer from Sony Music, but it was a very short window and many purchasers missed it. So buyer beware. Even with the pressing quality issues, it is worth owning from a historical perspective because it is the album as Dylan originally envisioned it, before changing his mind and rerecording many of the tracks with a full band in Minnesota. Good luck.

Edited 5 years agoSimply a must have for any Dylan fan. Great sound. Listen to this and feel like Bob is in the room. True magic!

The music is of course wonderful. Flawless pressing and great sound quality. Delighted to have nabbed this on RSD2019
-
Mine sounds fine, a little bit of noise on side 2, and the weirdest squeak early on in 'If you See Her Say Hello' which I think must be on the tape.
