Just bought this and it’s warped to the point that it’s not playable thanks to the ultra tight inner sleeve.

Mastering, pressing, sleeve all quality. Plan to replace the inner sleeve as it is tight…there is a joke there I suppose. No hype sticker or mp3 with the 2023 version. -
Id been on the lookout for an original (still am) but found this cheap in a shop

Edited 3 years agoJust received this copy. Overall, an excellent repress and repackaging. Sound quality is great, little to no surface noise, dynamic and lively, although the bass is a bit more subdued than I was expecting. I agree with FlamingLisp that the inner sleeve is tight--I should use a better sleeve instead anyway. And my copy has a rather tight spindle hole as well. In any case, these are minor criticisms of an otherwise superb reissue. I used to have the 4 Men with Beards copy, and it was a little harsh and sibilant. And while I would rather have a replica of the original silhouette record labels, at least with this copy you get an authentic-looking Island Records label (instead of that ugly 4 Men red label). Price was reasonable for this, too.
I know there's some concern about how the reissues reproduce the cover colors. I've never seen an actual original copy in real life, so I have nothing to judge by, but the color of my copy's front cover looks like a medium purple but a little on the blue side. Aside from that, the cover art quality is excellent, to my eyes. -
Sound quality is good but the inner sleeve is pretty tight the disc has a huge mark on side B causing 2 songs to skip :-| -
The sound quality is absolutely stunning. Great soundstage and details. Record is perfectly flat, very quiet and without a single pop. Excellent and exemplary pressing/reissue!

Why they used the longer B side for the bonus track instead of the shorter A side is a mystery to me. -
Edited 4 years agoThis a good pressing. The SQ is excellent and the vinyl is near silent. The only difference I can hear compared to my original copy is that there is not as much deep bass guitar on this one. The cover on mine is almost the same shade of purple as the original release. -
Compared to the original this cover is more blue and less purple. Innersleeve is exact the same while the new labels don't have the silhouettes of the band like the original. Otherwise the same. Sound is excellent. -
