Edited 6 years agoHats of to mr. Gilles Peterson for staying on the pulse of fresh jazz (informed) music for decades now. On We Out Here he brings together some of the most exciting names in the current London jazz scene. After older jazz records influencing electronic music in the 90s and 00s, these days it's the other way around. The young jazz musicians included on this compilation clearly grew up on electronic dance music and hiphop, and incorporated that influence in a fresh new sound, that puts emphasis on vibe and groove over technicality.. In 2018 Jazz really made its way out of its niche, with a younger crowd digging new jazz musicians, on stage and on record. We Out Here is a perfect compilation to show you why!
