No later pressing really sounds like this one. I have no idea if it's something about the EQ, or if none of the later versions were from masters, or what it might be, but there's something here that isn't anywhere else. On other versions of this great album, the 'Mats are playing next door to you. On this one, they're in your living room. One of my very favorite slabs of vinyl. The printed inner is great/funny, too.

No surprise, knocks rhino reissue out of the water. Much less compressed, brighter high end

On the back of my copy it has 'jacket made in canada'
Labels match US original and 1984 repress.

        Anyone know of this version?

"Johnny's Gonna Die" is pure inspiration, brilliant. The rest of the album is more or less boilerplate post-hardcore midwest punk, some, a cut above. Not bad if you're still into that sound, but even back in the day, I wanted to like it more than I actually liked it. This album is worth owning just for "Johnny's Gonna Die", and as an insight into where this band was headed.
