Bought this reissue - never knowing about the original with original artwork. Took me a long time to go back to it and fully appreciate it. I think I shelved it when I was a The The fan and not appreciating this work in the context of 4AD and a separate entity from The The. Once I finally dropped a needle on it years later - it was a revelation and is now among my favorite, special albums. So glad I did not sell this when I did not fully grasp it and hadn't spent the time to embrace it. Highly recommended 1-of-a-kind slab of vinyl.

Obviously, you really want the original psychedelic eye sleeve pressing by Andy Dog (Johnson's brother who did the sleeve art for most of his releases) but this reissue featuring a Fiona Skinner designed sleeve is well worth owning. Its a fine sounding pressing and features a longer complete version of Icing Up. It fades out on the original... so if you're a fan, you need both really...

Pff what a great album. Haunting and full of musical ideas, a lot of tracks have two or three layers that would make excellent tracks by themselves. It's wave, goth, ambient at the same time.
