Edited one year agoSounds a bit compressed to me, especially during louder sections, almost like I'm listening to a radio broadcast that was recorded onto an 8-track. Opening heartbeat effect does not fade in and the piano chord at the end of side one does not fade out and cuts off before the pitch shift. Doesn't the sibilance test all that well, although side two fares a little better. Plenty of low level noise even after a thorough cleaning. Moderately weighty slab of vinyl otherwise. Sound is just OK I guess but I have heard better. Imaging seems a little diffuse and I'm not really hearing the gigantic soundstage I normally get from this album. Side two sounds a little better to me but that's where I noticed that it seems to be running a little fast? My tattered, worn out US pressing from the mid-seventies is sounding a little hairy these days, but it still brings more excitement than this Indian cut. Based on my experience I wouldn't lose sleep on this one if you never get to hear it....
