Edited 4 months agoListenable but not great... Pops and clicks throughout + a warped record. Real shame as this is a fantastic album. Tracks like shark smile sound good, but quieter numbers like pretty things really highlight the imperfections.

I’ve had a copy since release date and it sounds great. Some of these early Saddle Creek pressings are good. It’s a shame it hit or miss for a lot of people. -
Stellar folk rock album, not the best press I've ever heard but completely worth just to listen to tracks like Mythological Beauty and Black Diamonds. Stuff that really hits the heart.

Got a bad pressing it seems since I cleaned it and it still sounds strange. Listenable even with the faults, and some tracks are better than others, but disappointing since this album is so beautiful.

My copy sounds pretty great, much better than Dragon New Warm Mtn. Playing on a Nagoka through a Schiit phono stage.

Edited 3 years agodon't bother w big thief's first 2 records on vinyl if you're looking for good sound quality; i'm honestly shocked at how bad these sound. albums this good deserve WAY better -

A beautifully crafted album with a warm, dynamic sound. My copy is quiet with zero surface noise. Nice pressing! -
