John Coltrane – At Carnegie Hall

The lead in groove on sides C & D starts 4 mm in. My Sony PS-X70 doesn't like it; the needle just sits there, waiting ;-)

This version sounds a lot better than the single disc version that sounds anemic. This is a case where the digital to analog transfer sounds better then the all analog single disc counterpart. That said, this record is not audiophile recording but it's puchy with strong mid bass and overall an enjoyable listen.

both discs have that slight bowl that causes it to spin annoyingly.. get tired of BN quality control with some of these when not ordering from Amazon with easy returns..

I went into this album with low expectations on sound quality, but was pleasantly surprised. The sound is fuller than I expected. Pressing is flat, no noise issues. Thumbs up.

Vinyl packaged in poly lined paper sleeves, board flat. The colored wax looks beautiful and the gatefold sleeve is a great addition. I had to give the record a wet clean before playing (what record doesn’t need that now a days). Fantastic live album recording, has a rich deep sound that fills the room and I had a very enjoyable listening experience.

Great remastering, sounds better than the slightly muffled digital version. Like listening for the first time...

Not sure, but like a lot of other titles from Classic Records around this time, I think early pressings were 180 gram and at some point they switched over to 200 gram. Same stampers, so the only way to know what you have (other than weighing the LP) would be the sticker on the outer bag.

Sounds pretty good. I don’t think it was a super high quality recording in the first place. It sounds a little distant at times but obviously the music is amazing. Good reissue and glad to finally have it on vinyl!

This album is of a low sound quality. The pressing is very noisy (I had to vacuum it repeatedly due to its popping). The sound is lacked of bass and details. I suppose that is an unauthorised copy manufactured by DOX, a dubious Russian label - because it sounds rather like an mp3 file, not like a true analogic LP.
